About Dr. Vernon
With a Ph.D. in clinical psychology and over 25 years as a professor, I've spent my career studying the science of stress, resilience, emotion, and wellbeing in young people. My work focuses on translating research into practical tools that help students, parents, and educators navigate learning, wellbeing, and technology in a rapidly changing world. I've published over 50 peer-reviewed articles on stress, resilience, emotion, and how young people navigate adversity.
What I've learned is that most students arrive at college underprepared — not academically, but psychologically. These workshops exist to close that gap, using the same research I teach honors students, translated into skills families can actually use.
